Photos of Johnbull Asbor, a Nigerian man linked to Rita Waeni’s murder with his friends at Roysambu emerge

A photo of Johnbull Asbor with some of his Nigerian friends in Roysambu has surfaced, providing a glimpse into their social circle and raising questions about potential connections to the crime.

The two Nigerian men, are in police custody, connected to the brutal murder of 20-year-old university student Rita Waeni. The suspects were apprehended on Sunday after Rita’s head was discovered near Kiambaa dam, leading detectives from the Criminal Research and Intelligence Bureau (CRIB) to an apartment in Ndenderu, Kiambu County.

Johnbull Asbor and William Opia were living not far from the location where the gruesome discovery was made, adding a chilling dimension to the investigation. It is now emerging that the two suspects reside in separate houses, highlighting the complexity of their alleged involvement in the heinous crime.

Detectives executed a search warrant at the suspects’ residence, recovering a hatchet, butcher’s knife, a national identity card belonging to a Kenyan (name withheld), six mobile phones, three laptops, 10 SIM cards from different telecom service providers, and other items. The investigation also revealed that the suspects were in the country illegally, further complicating the legal proceedings.

Detective Constable Benjamin Wangila of Kasarani DCI offices sought an order to hold the suspects for eight days at the Kasarani police station as investigations continue. Senior Principal Magistrate Agnes Mwangi of Makadara Law Courts granted the request, ordering the suspects to be held until January 31.
